Start date: January 1, 2025. Board members are appointed for a 2-year term.
About the role: Serve as a voting member of the board of directors for TC Food Justice. Ensure the organization achieves its mission of reducing food waste and hunger in the Twin Cities, and oversee the activities of the organization. The member will provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance. While day-to-day operations are led by TC Food Justice’s Executive Director, the Board-Executive Director relationship is a collaborative partnership.
Qualifications:
Board members must have a demonstrated commitment to or interest in one or more of the core values of the organization. Core values of the organization include: food waste redistribution, reduction of hunger in low-income communities, and food justice.
Professional experience with leadership accomplishments in the non-profit, human/social services, business, government, or philanthropy arenas; prior board services a plus.
An understanding of the impact of hunger, food insecurity and poverty on individuals, families and the community.
Payment: Service on TC Food Justice’s Board of Directors is without compensation outside of specific reimbursable expenses.
