TC Food Justice’s Purpose: to collect and distribute food from local retail and wholesale partners, to local food shelves, shelters, and/or other organizations in need; to educate the community about hunger issues and food waste; and, to advocate for policy related to hunger issues and food waste.

Reports to: Board Chair

Start date: Flexible; Onboarding will take place at the beginning of the new term beginning January 1, 2024.

Role: Serve as a voting member of the board of directors for TC Food Justice. Ensure the organization achieves its mission of reducing food waste and hunger in the Twin Cities, and oversee the activities of the organization. The member will provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance. While day-to-day operations are led by TC Food Justice’s Executive Director, the Board-Executive Director relationship is a collaborative partnership. Board members are encouraged to actively participate in the operations of TCFJ and cover food rescue shifts as available and needed.

Payment: Service on TC Food Justice’s Board of Directors is without compensation outside of specific reimbursable expenses.
